This week (13 November to 19 November) is Transgender Awareness Week, leading up to Transgender Day of Remembrance on this Sunday, 20 November.

This week is a time for transgender people and their allies to bring attention to the community by educating the public about who transgender people are, sharing stories and experiences, and advancing advocacy around issues of prejudice, discrimination, and violence that affect the transgender community, while TDOR is an international day of remembrance to honour all the transgender people around the world whose lives have been lost to transphobic violence that year. There’s a TDOR vigil and service being held in The Lord Mayor's Chapel, College Green, 4pm - 6.30pm on Sunday 20th November.

Next week is Trans Pride South West – there’s a variety of fantastic community-led events still to come, including comedy nights, swimming classes, cabaret, an after party with a DJ set from Chelsea Manning and of course the Trans Pride Protest and March and the Community Day.
